This week:  Lesson 4 of 4 : Paul and Silas keep telling others about Jesus in jail.

April  Scripture:  PLEASE GO OVER SCRIPTURE EACH WEEK.  HAVE CHILDREN REPEAT IT A FEW TIMES!
(motions are in the curriculum under make it true section.)
"Go and tell everyone, everywhere about Jesus." Matthew 28:19.

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True) Begin by making the connection that last week we talked about Saul turning to Paul and how Paul wanted to tell everyone about Jesus. Now Paul and his friend Silas are going around telling others about Jesus.   We have another jail story...this week.. it is Paul and Silas in jail.  After looking through the curriculum it looks like the  story should be easy to tell. Since this is the 2nd jail story this month focus on how Paul and  Silas continued to tell others even when it was hard...

Activities (Make it fun, Make it stick): thoughts on this weeks' activities:
  • A few earthquake activities (shaking buildings, earthquakes) These are fun games to play the explain the "earthquake" that happened in the story.
  • Use the "music time" with Ms. Judy to talk about how Paul and Silas sang in jail.
  • Paper chains are always fun.  Some of you may have done paper chains before, but this is a great idea.  I would love to send home a bag of chains with the letter for children to do at home.  I will get letters copied and bags ready.
  • Paul and Silas craftThis is a very cute craft.  We have alcohol paints that are not messy at all and dry very quickly!  Instead of using craft sticks I would cut black paper strips and glue them down with glue sticks.

This week:  Lesson 3 of 5 :Jesus helps Paul see the truth

April  Scripture: "Go and make disciples of all nations." Matthew 28:19..  Remember to review the scripture with the children each week (motions are in the curriculum under make it true section.) You could also say "Go and tell everyone, everywhere about Jesus." Matthew 28:19.

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True) This weeks' story will be fun to tell.  There are a few props that you can use....please feel free to improvise on anything. You and your partner can play different roles..There is a mustache included in the materials that you can print out and attach to a popsicle stick (we have them in the resource closet.) Have fun.  This is a great story.

Activities (Make it fun, Make it stick): thoughts on this weeks' activities:
  • We have (2) magnifying glasses to use for the Closer Look game
  • Lots of fun games this week:  Trust me looks fun to do with partners and only needs some masking tape (we have);  True or False game- This looks greatA super way to review the story and have fun.
  • For the craft lovers the Saul/Paul bright light craft is a good one.  This could be a good arrival activity as well.

Prayer time: Gather in prayer sometime throughout the morning! Ask the kids what you can pray about!

April 14th, Lesson 2 of 4....
Monthly theme:  Jesus wants me to tell others about Him.

Announcements:
  •  Next Music with Ms. Judy will be April 28th
  • Curriculum link: www.whatisorange.org
  • login name:  fishleader     password: jesus
  • Contact Amy: text or voice:  502-553-9347  email: amy@ccum.net

This week:  Lesson 2 of 5 :Peter Put in Jail for telling others about God.

April  Scripture: "Go and make disciples of all nations." Matthew 28:19..  Remember to review the scripture with the children each week (motions are in the curriculum under make it true section.)

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True)I am going to provide a copied story for you to use.  Please review curriculum and insert some interactive moments into the story.  I think this will be easier then just following  the curriculum story.  It had too many props/actors, etc.  Think about making a set of paper chains for each child to chain their hands together and then they can break free when it gets to that part of the story,

Activities (Make it fun, Make it stick): thoughts on a few I liked....
  • All Nations-I have a world map that you can use.  This looks fun and really drives home the point of the whole world knowing about Jesus.
  • Go and Tell Craft-Easy craft.  I can copy the sheet in color for you and provide the blue and green tissue paper.
  • Make Paper Chains Craft-This is not in the curriculum, but I thought it could be fun.  Teachers would have to staple or tape the chains onto the children's wrists and then they could break them to show how Peter's chains fell off.
  • Jail Time-This London Bridge game is cute and drives home the scripture.
Prayer time: Gather in prayer sometime throughout the morning! Ask the kids what you can pray about!
