May  Scripture:  Please go over scripture each week with the motions

"Be kind and loving to each other"  Ephesians 4:32
Motions:  Be kind (smile, tilt your head, and point to your cheeks) and loving (give yourself a  big hug) to (show two fingers in front of you) each other (point around the room to everyone.)

Prayer Time: #1 in our top 10:   Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer about their personal requests.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True )Props, props, etc.  This story has you bringing a few props that are easy.  You could skip the walking stick, but bring an apron.  I also thought it might easier for the preschoolers to visualize the sons and their wives, so I plan to die cut four people that you can use as visuals. The curriculum does a good job stepping you through the story.

Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun)
  • My family helps me-easy, no prep.  Use a ball to pass around.  Very easy.
  • Follow a leader- no prep as well.  Easy visual to learn about following someone.
  • I can help-I don't normally suggest these games, but you could show this visually, since each of the rooms has a kitchen and you could do some mini role-playing.  Could be teacher led or child led.
      CRAFT/TABLE ACTIVITIES
  • Our family tree- This is a very cute activity.  There are no activity pages, but I will have a page of leaves and apples ready to copy. We have brown paper where we can draw a tree as well.
  • Family Noodle Necklace-Very easy activity.  Not sure how hard it wold be to write names on the pasta itself.  Any suggestion let me know.
  • Family Hands-could trace hands as they arrive and then cut out during music class.

Prayer Time: #1 in our top 10:   Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer about their personal requests.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True )This story suggests you bring some sound clips.  Maybe you have access to some of these sounds that could be played on a phone...or maybe the kids could be assigned to make the sounds...i.e. part of the group does the thunder sound, part does the dog sound, etc.  Be creative!  A fun and easy story to tell.

Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun) Lots of game type activities this week:

       GAMES
  • Red light/Green light- could go to gym and play this if you like.
  •  Name that sound- use sounds on a phone, ipad, etc. , ringtone...
  • Song detective-similar to name that sound, but you could play songs.  You could use a kids cd/songlist that you may have of common preschool songs.  Or, you could just hum them yourself if your open to that idea!
  • Don't speak-if we have music you could do this on the way to music. Otherwise, you could talk a short walk around the area.
      CRAFT/TABLE ACTIVITIES
  • Listening ears-fun craft-making a set of ears.  We have paper plates and pipe cleaner.

Prayer Time: #1 in our top 10:   Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer about their personal requests.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True )This is a fun story to tell and I have a few suggestions for telling it:
  1. As me for my "four friends" cardboard strips which you can manuever around to tell the whole story.  Its really cute and the kids love it.
  2. Line up four chairs with backs in the middle, leaving enough room to lower a baby on a blanket into the whole.  Tell the story and have the kids lower a baby doll on a blanket to simulate lowering the friend in through the hole in the roof.
  3. Print out some pictures -a #4, a house, 4 friends hanging out together, a sick man, etc. to use and hold up when telling the story.
Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun) Lots of good activities this week-should be easy to choose some.  A few easy ones:

       GAMES
  • Shake a leg-easy to play this game with some music on a CD.  Use the cards provided in the activity pages.
  • Carry the baby-fun and visual game for the kids.  They practice carrying a baby on a blanket.
      CRAFT/TABLE ACTIVITIES
  • True Story-coloring sheet, which could also be used in retelling the story.
  • Friendship bracelets-this is a fun thing the kids enjoy making.  Let me know if you need these supplies, as we have had colored pasta in the supply room in the past.

Prayer Time: #1 in our top 10:   Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer about their personal requests.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True )You can modify the story with some of your own props.  Otherwise,  its an easy story to tell.

Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun) Lots of good activities this week-should be easy to choose some.  A few of my favorites:

  • Blind movements-no props needed for this.
  • What do I feel-kids love this guessing game.  Bring a bag and props from home or use some of the items around the classroom.
  • Balloon chase-also a cute game.  Could go to the gym if you wanted.  You could share the story down there and do some of the activities.  Coordinate with Janet on Sunday morning and she can make sure the gym is open for you.
  • BFF bookmark-a fun craft kids could use at home.  We have cardstock at church. Janet can get it for you.
  • Mud face-this seems kind of fun, but could be messy!  Would get the point of the story across!
