Announcements:  

• There WILL NOT   be music this Sunday.
• This is the last Sunday of the theme we have been teaching all month. It is a "review the story" Sunday.  
• Please come to the "coffee and conversations" event on Sunday morning during 9 and 11:15am to learn more about the vision for children's ministries.  I think you will enjoy getting to know Leanne Hadley and learning about the great things our church is focusing on!  
• I will be around to make copies, prepare items for you.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True )
The story this week is a review of all the stories of the month.  You use the activity pictures to tell the story and you can modify this story telling however you want.  I think the kids will enjoy recalling the pieces and parts of the story.  (See the activity cards for the memory match game that have story pictures on them.)
 
Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun)

There are quite a few different games.  You could have the kids rotate around and play different ones.  (i.e. the bean bag game, the matching game, etc.)  There really isn't a "craft" for this lesson.  

• Memory match game:  use activity cards.
• Bean Bag game:  I can copy these cards for you to use in this game and we have plenty of bean bags.
• What's in the box:   Maybe use a drawstring bag of some sorts instead of a box. Kids love this kind of game.  
• Shepherd, shepherd: There is nothing more fun than playing a hide and seek game. Of course I have sheep!

 

Sunday October 23rd

• There WILL  be music this Sunday.
• I will be gone this Sunday and Tammy will be to.  Janet Hagerty and another childcare staff team leader will be in the fish rooms all morning.  JAnet will have a bag with all the supplies for the activities listed below:  sheet, ball, blue colored crepe paper, craft sticks, and labels.  See her for anything you may need.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True ) The story calls for props this week.  Modify to meet your needs.  I will have blue tape available that you could make a boat on the floor for the kids to sit in.  A rain coat is also a fun item to bring and the story has the kids making sounds.  Someone could be Jesus asleep in the boat.....
 
Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun)

• Ride the waves/making waves: use a blue sheet and a soft ball (I have these ready and waiting for you!).  These games are like the old parachute game with the ball in the middle.
• Sounds like rain:  no prop game.
• Tub boats-this looks cute and we have cardstock and craft sticks, but we only have a few  toilet paper rolls. If you think you have some at home to bring in it would be a fun craft.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True ) The story references using props.  You cold modify these.  You can use tissue paper if you don't want to make the craft, use a sound off of your phone, and you could use anything for a statue. Let me know if you need a trophy-we have some at our house!  We also have crowns here.  You can also just read the story from the Bible if you would like.
 
Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun)Lots of great activities for this week!!! Many more to choose. 

• Protect Us:  Game with no props...Emphasizes God as our "protector."
• Balls of Fire:  Kids might enjoy this because they get to "cut."  I can help show you how to assemble this.
• Hoops of Fire:  We have hula hoops here that we can get for you. 
• Fiery Furnace: a craft that supports the story.
