Monthly theme: Jesus is a good friend.

Announcements:
  • Your commitment to lead 10 am preschool small group will continue through the end of May!  Only a few more weeks.

Curriculum:  Week 4of 4:

April Scripture:  Please go over scripture each week with the motions
"A friend loves at all times"  Proverbs 17:17

Prayer Time: #1 in our top 10:   Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True) The story this week tells us that Jesus has a place prepared for us.  It is about Heaven and I have a story copied that you can use.  Please review the story in the curriculum, so you know the direction the curriculum is leading, but feel free to use my story if you like.  Let me know Sunday morning if you need it.

Activities: (Make it Stick and Make it Fun) comments about some of the activities:

  • Stick Houses-Probably my favorite activity as the children get to assemble a house on paper with craft sticks.  Probably good to copy on cardstock and then glue down.
  • Our place-use this activity when getting ready for story time.  Can bring favorite things from home.
  • Clock game-fun easy game to play around the room.  Very little prep or props.
  • My friend Jesus-A table craft activity with very little prep.  I can make copies for you.  Let me know.

  • Note:  I will have palm branches in each room this Sunday.  For you to use.

Curriculum:  Week 2 of 5:  Its Palm Sunday.

April Scripture:  Please go over scripture each week with the motions
"A friend loves at all times"  Proverbs 17:17

Prayer Time: #1 in our top 10:   Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True) The story is a well known one this week.  You will be telling about Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.  The curriculum does a good job laying out everything to tell the story. The Bible and a palm branch will be needed to tell the story.  You could bring in any other props as you might want.  Note:  I will have palm branches in each room.  For you to use.

Activities: (Make it Stick and Make it Fun) comments about some of the activities:

Games:
  •  Kitchen parade:  We have bells, tapping sticks, and hand sliders I can get for you if you like this game.  The kids love instruments!
  • Leaves and Coats:  Really cute, easy game.  I will have color  copies of the coats and palms already made.  Use any kind of music with CD in room.
  • Donkey Relay-also a fun game.  I don't have any of these props, but you are welcome to bring in a broom or yard sticks.

Craft Activity:
  • Palm leaf investigations- I have 20 maginifying glasses you can use for this project.
  • Leaf Impressions-This would be fun and easy and we have large crayons without the label you could use.
  • My little donkey-also a cute, fun craft.  There is yarn and clothespins in the resource room; and I have light colored cardstock to make copies.
