  • Please make time to pray with your children!  There is also a prayer you could reference at the end of the "Make it Real" section of the curriculum. This is as important as the story.
  •  Text me with any questions or needs:  502-553-9347 or amy@ccum.net

This week:  Lesson 1 0f 5 :Jesus Heals the Blind man.  Jesus will help us.
"Wow" is the theme this month as we share how amazing Jesus is...he healed peopled, helped them, and ultimately died for us and was resurrected.  The preschoolers may be really learning about the Easter story for the first time. WOW!!

March Scripture: "I am with you always." Matthew 28:20..  Remember to review the scripture with the children each week (motions are in the curriculum under make it true section.)

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True) Jesus heals the blind man.  This is another favorite Bible story and the kids can learn how much Jesus loved others.  He wants to be our forever friend too.  Review the story in the curriculum, so you understand the points to get across, but I will have a beautifully copied story in your room for you to use in telling this story.

Activities: Thoughts on some of the activities:
Blind movements:  Have kids follow instructions while their eyes are closed. Easy!!!
What do I feel:    This is a favorite kids love.  This will keep them guessing!  Easy props and you could sub in different props if needed.
Balloon chase:     I would call this balloon walk rather than chase, but might be fun to practice saying the scripture verse.  You could even take the kids down to the gym for this one!  Fun outing.  We have balloons and plenty of string/yarn.
Crafts:
BFF Bookmark:  A fun easy craft.  We have stickers and glitter.  Glitter sounds scary but they love it and we have an easy way to do it using trays, so it won't be so messy.
Mud face: This might scare you, but sensory activities like this sometimes really hit the mark.  Julie and I can help if needed!
Prayer time: Gather in prayer sometime throughout the morning! Ask the kids what you can pray about!

This week:  Lesson 3 of 4:The Good Samaritan.  God wants me to love others.
February Scripture: "How wide and high and long and deep is the love of Christ." Ephesians 3:18.  Remember to review the scripture with the children each week (motions are in the curriculum under make it true section.)

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True) The Good Samaritan Luke 10:25-37  This is another favorite Bible story and the kids can really understand how God wants us to help others.  See the Story in the curriculum.  You can be very creative in telling this story-using props, etc.

Activities

Another great week of fun games to apply the story and this month's verse. My favorites are:
Good friend game:  Learning to help each other.  Only tissues and music are needed.
How can I love others:  This fun games combines sharing stories on how to help each other along with putting bandaids on the outline of a person.  Props needed: butcher block paper, band-aids,  (we have some...just let me know!)
How long can you go:   Kids will really laugh playing this game...A good visual to how much God loves us.... toilet paper needed... (we have this as well)

Prayer time: Gather in prayer sometime throughout the morning! Ask the kids what you can pray about!

This week:  Lesson 2 of 4:God will always love me  The Prodigal Son.
February Scripture: "How wide and high and long and deep is the love of Christ." Ephesians 3:18.  Remember to review the scripture with the children each week (motions are in the curriculum under make it true section.)

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True) The Prodigal sonThis is probably not a regularly told story for preschoolers, but it fits in well with the scripture and theme this month.  Read through the story in the curriculum and consider bringing props to use in telling it...i.e.  pretend money (from a game maybe?), use the pictures from the activity pages to show what the son spent his money on, etc.

Activities

There aren't many crafts for this story but a few games and a "story review" activity.  Here are my thoughts:
Funny Farm Game:  A good game for before you tell the story.  Put a leader at each table to lead this game.
Feed the pigs:  Just a funny game to get them thinking about the ugly job of feeding the pigs. We have been bags at church and could come up with some baskets for you.  We also have pink paper we could use to copy the picture.
Welcome Home:  I think this looks like a great activity for after the story.    See the sheet in the activity pages.

Prayer time: Gather in prayer sometime throughout the morning! Ask the kids what you can pray about!
