  • Please make time to pray with your children!  There is also a prayer you could reference at the end of the "Make it Real" section of the curriculum. This is as important as the story.

This week:  Lesson 2 of 4:God will always love me  The Prodigal Son.
February Scripture: "How wide and high and long and deep is the love of Christ." Ephesians 3:18.  Remember to review the scripture with the children each week (motions are in the curriculum under make it true section.)

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True) The Prodigal sonThis is probably not a regularly told story for preschoolers, but it fits in well with the scripture and theme this month.  Read through the story in the curriculum and consider bringing props to use in telling it...i.e.  pretend money (from a game maybe?), use the pictures from the activity pages to show what the son spent his money on, etc.

Activities

There aren't many crafts for this story but a few games and a "story review" activity.  Here are my thoughts:
Funny Farm Game:  A good game for before you tell the story.  Put a leader at each table to lead this game.
Feed the pigs:  Just a funny game to get them thinking about the ugly job of feeding the pigs. We have been bags at church and could come up with some baskets for you.  We also have pink paper we could use to copy the picture.
Welcome Home:  I think this looks like a great activity for after the story.    See the sheet in the activity pages.

Prayer time: Gather in prayer sometime throughout the morning! Ask the kids what you can pray about!
