2. Music with Ms. Judy will start on Sun. Sept. 16th.  All classes will meet in rm 108 (The Blue fish room) at 10:15am.  It will last approx. 15 min. then you can return to your room for lesson time.

3.Remember to print out your name tags.  This worked very well last week!! Thanks.

This week's lesson tips: Sept. lesson 1

September Monthly Theme:  God loves me.
Bible Story Focus this week: God loves me, because God made me.
Scripture:  Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Romans 8:39.
Please say this with children. Hand motions can be found under "worship" section of curriculum.

1.All activities listed are fun and interactive this week using different "senses" of the body.  Pick and choose what you like and then link back to how God made us amazing, because he loves us.

2.The story is interactive and you could use the back of a door or a supply cabinet door to tape up the picture of the body as you create it.

3. The Always and Forever paint activity looks cute and we have all the paint colors in the supply room.  We also have Q-tips and smock covers the kids could put on.  (**Note: we don't have three bottles of all colors, so if you can't find a color see if another classroom might be using it.)  Paint is located on the right side of the supplies toward the back of the room.  Qtips are also on the right at the beginning of the shelves. Both are labeled on the shelves.

Sunday Aug.26th-Lesson 4 First Look

Announcements this week:

1. Remember to print yourself a name tag this weekend at the electronic check in.  If you are checking in children then go back and select your name as well.  A name tag will print off for you to wear.  If your children aren't here just check yourself in the same way you would your children. Wearing a name tag each week will help parents identify and get to know you, their children's leader.

2 If you come up with a creative idea (big or little) for your lesson please click on the "comments" line at the bottom of the blog and publish your comment for all to share.  Cara Taylor had a cute idea last week and when I saw it Sunday morning I implemented it in the room I was leading.  Let's share the great ideas we all have!

3. Preschool music with Ms. Judy will be starting after Labor Day.  I'll keep you posted.

4.  Psalm Kids Kick Off is this Wednesday.  6pm-7:20.  6pm start this Wednesday. There will be a Moms to Mom group every week  if you are interested in a small group for yourself!

5. If you want to have any food just put a sign outside your door or tape it to the doorway.  Any allergy information for children will be printed on the teacher tag that is kept in your black binder.  Please review that any week you would be serving food.

6.  Next week we start  a new theme for September:  God Loves Me!

This week's lesson tips:

August Monthly Theme:  God is always with me.  (See video on website)
Bible Story Focus:  Stories God providing Manna, Quail, and Water for his people
Scripture:  God is with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1:9Please say this with children.
The children have been talking about Moses the past two weeks, so they should begin to have a base understanding about Moses leading the people to a new land.

1. This week's story is also interactive in that you can tell the story and move around the room like the Israelites.  Instead of bread oyster crackers might be a good idea to use. (We have them at church!)

2. You could print out a picture of a quail and a  desert (or show it on a tablet if you have one.) THis will help them see why there was no access to food and water.

3. If you want to do the "With you" game we have stickers in the resource room.  We also have liquid glue and paintbrushes if you like the Picture pages activity.

Sunday Aug. 19th-Lesson 3 First Look

Announcements:

1. This Sunday when you check in your children you can also choose your name in the drop box list. A name tag that you can wear will print out.  Wearing a name tag each week will help parents identify and get to know you, their children's leader.

2.Please look in the  Small Group Supply closet(labeled with a sign) in your room.  Each room should have a CD player and their will be additional toys(for church use only) that might be stored there.  (ie.puzzles, play doh, etc.) Feel free to have music on for the kids.

Bible Lesson Tips:

Monthly Theme:  God is always with me.
Bible Story Focus:  Stories of Moses. Crossing the Red Sea is this week's story.
Scripture:  God is with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1:9

1. This week's story is interactive in that you can tell the story and move around the room like the Israelites.  You might also get  a piece of blue craft paper off the rolls in the resource room and then cut it in half during the story to let the kids pass through the sea.

2. The Follow Moses and Everywhere I Go games in the lesson look easy and fun.

3. Here's a game I found as well:
Two adults hold the four corners of the sheet as it rests on the floor in front of the children. The children line up single file at one side of the sheet. The first child in line will play the part of Moses and stretch out his hand. Once the first child in line has stretched out his hand, the adults will quickly raise the sheet high above their heads. As the sheet parachutes above them, the children will run under the sheet to the other side. If children are under the sheet when it comes down, they are out of the game. Have children take turns being the first one in line and playing the part of Moses.

4. I will have coloring sheets in your room.

August 12th-Promotion Sunday

See my cell number on this blog if you want to call or text me.

1. To access your curriculum:  www.whatisorange.org
Login name:  fishleader       Password:  Jesus
Choose August  then, week 2

2.August Theme: God is with me everywhere.
Week 2 story:  Moses and the Burning Bush
Focus:  God is with me even when I am afraid.
  • Activities:  The Listening game is easy and requires no props.  It teaches we have to listen for God.  The Always with me game can also be used with toy props from the room.  The Burning Bush craft could be done as a group by taking a piece of white butcher block paper (in resource room) and drawing a bush on the paper.  This can be posted on the wall and kids could draw/color flames on it or you could paint glue on and they could glue on pieces of tissue paper.
  •  Resources we have:  masking tape, red, orange, yellow tissue paper.  Red and Yellow alcohol paint-dries fast with no mess.
  • Bible Story tips: You could bring in an artificial plant and put tissue paper (will be in resource room Sunday morning if u need) in it.  Skip the fan and streamers if that is too complicated for you.  Print out a picture of Moses tending sheep.  Print out a picture of a man who could be Aaron.  Have your partner be the voice of God.  Summarize the Pharaoh part by saying God wanted Moses to go tell the king to free his people and Aaron was scared to do this.  Ask questions:  Are you scared when you go to a new room?  Maybe you were scared today to come in to this room?  Have you had to talk to a friend or an adult that made you scared?  God is always with you.
    • I have a plant at home to use if you would like to borrow it.  Text me!
  3. Items to remember:
  • Spend time taking prayer requests and praying with and for the children.
  • Send home the parent cue sheets with each child.
