Announcements:  We had a great Sunday last week!  Keep the feedback coming. I am happy to implement any new ideas!

• I am out of town this Sunday! Tammy, our childcare staff assistant, and Janet Hagerty  will be checking in with you to get what you need. 
• Look for your personalized nametags in the front of the black binders that you can  wear each week!  Thank you for the idea Lana! 
• Also, look for the weekly "lesson overview" stickers in your room to put on your kids' backs each week.  This keeps parents connected to what's going on !

September Scripture:  Please go over scripture each week with the motions.  They really do learn it!  (motions are in the activity pages at the end.)  "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. "  Jeremiah 29:11

Prayer time- #1 in our top 10:   Don't forget about prayer time sometime in the hour! Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer. 

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True) During the whole month of  Sept. we will travel through the story of Joseph.  Each week they introduce more pieces of the story.  This week you are introducing that Joseph was part of a large family and God had a plan for him.  You could supplement by drawing a family tree, so the kids could visually see things or possibly print off a picture of Joseph's family.  (google this and you will find images.)  

Activities  Thoughts on this weeks' activities: Lots to choose from. 
***NOTE: On the  orange curriculum 3's-5's section there is an icon after week 4 that says "Bible Story Review" pages.  A few of the activities reference these.  You can print them off to use. 

• Suitcase game:  Fun, but could modify to use baskets, clothes, maps, etc.  other stuff you would take on a trip to make preparing for this game easier.
• Starting our day table activity:  You might do this as a group and have them glue down the pictures first, then color if they want.  Some kids won't want to color them in.
• Joseph's story table activity:  Kids would love this and we have stamps and magnifying glasses.  Just let me know if you need it.
•  Big Fan of God craft activity:  We don't have dowel rods, but would have straws you could use.
• God made me craft activity:  We have butcher block paper, squiggly eyes, and curly hair, actually,  in the resource room.

• Thanks for a great start last week.  PLEASE NOTE:  WE WILL BE USING WEEK 2 IN THE CURRICULUM THIS SUNDAY.
• I will have labels in the rooms to stick on the children's backs when they leave-telling parents what they learned and talked about that day.

Prayer:  Please don't forget to take time to pray with your children.  This is most important!    

 

Bible Story: This week the story is Jonah and the Whale.  Read through the story in the curriculum:  can use props, children's bible if desired, etc.  

Activities :    Here are some notes about this weeks' activities, but do what sounds good to you!

• Games:  Far and away:  No props needed.
• Game: Fish in the Bucket:  This is easy.  We have bean bags and buckets.  I can get them for you Sunday morning.  
• Arts and Crafts:  Fish Puzzle:  This looks really cute.  Easy to do.  We have cardstock available.  I am happy to copy for you.
• Arts and Crafts:  Jonah Craft-Again, we have clothespins and cardstock.  Let me know if you want these items.

Announcements:

• This is our first Sunday!! Plan to arrive in your rooms by 9:55 to be ready to meet and greet!

This week:  There will be 3 activities in your room and a Bible story to read to the kids.  (See below.)  Plan on  some prayer time and snack time as well!  This will be more of an introduction Sunday as our two year olds  have promoted up.  Children must be 3 by Oct. 1st to be in the fish room.  

Bible Story: I will have copies of the Adam and Eve in the Garden story.  You can read that to the children.  There will be a story summary sheet in your room.  Adam and Eve disobeyed God and he knew what was best for them.  God's ways are the right ways. 

Activities :    All supplies will be in your room for you.

• Games:  Bean Bag name game:  Children will pass the bean bag and when they get it say their name.  Leader will help prompt children to say:  __________ is my new friend all together.  
• Game: Matching Heart game:  This fun game allows the children to draw 1/2 of a heartout of the bag.  Whene everyone has one the children go and find the matching heart.  You can play several times.  
• Game:  This or That game:  THis activity supports the story in helping kids choose which are the best choices to make and what God would want them to do.  There are game cards and pictures to use.
