Bible Story: (found under Make it True ) The curriculum has you opening gift boxes each week and you could wrap a prop or a picture up to help tell the story.  You don't have to wrap four gift boxes and follow that.  You can read the angel part of the story from a children's Bible or Use one of the large story books that I have.  Each week we will build on the Christmas story. This week it is about Joseph and Mary traveling to Bethlehem and Jesus was born.  My suggestions is to start at the beginning of the Christmas story and read to the point of the story where we are.

  • Pin the tail-a classic game that relates to our story.
  • God gave-easy table activity.

  • Journey to Bethlehem-table activity that kids can do-a maze worksheet.

Prayer Time: #1 in our top 10:   Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer about their personal requests.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True ) Story:We have been talking about David all month.  David is a young boy who grows up to be a shepherd and then is annointed king when he is older. This week he fights the giant Goliath.  David loved God and knew that God would always help him. God helps us do BIG things.  Make sure to reconnect the stories of David from earlier this month and then tell the Goliath story.  I have a large picture book you can use if you like!

Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun)Great games to choose from this week! Have fun!
  • Best shot and bean bag game-we have bean bags and all different size buckets you can use.
  • How tall are you- this activity has been a hit in the past.  You can use some white butcher block paper and even hang it in the hallway.  The kids love to look at the results!
  • Play-doh stones- We have play-doh in the room you are welcome to use and the kids can take their stones home.  We have snack size baggies as well.
  • Rock painting-This would also be fun.  We have a bucket of stones believe it or not.  I would start painting at the beginning to give them ample time to dry.  You could send the stones home on paper plates.
