August 16th,  God knows what is best for me.

Announcements:
  • Looking forward to kicking off this week.  I will have activities prepared, so if you read over the Bible story from the curriculum you will be ready to go.
  •  Please arrive around 9:55 as families may be early on this first Sunday.
  • Since this is the first week and some kids will be getting adjusted it would be fine to have a smaller amount of "lesson time."  If you gather for Bible story time and then do an activity or two that will be great.
  • Spend some time getting to know children and letting them know you will be seeing them lots this year.
  • I will also have coloring sheets available in each fish room.

Curriculum:  Week 1 of 3: August theme:  God knows what's best for me.

August Scripture:  Please go over scripture each week with the motions
"God's way is perfect." Psalm 18:30 click here for scripture motions.

Prayer Time: #1 in our top 10:   Ask the kids what you can pray about and lead them in prayer about their personal requests.

Bible Story: (found under Make it True )This week's story is about how "God's way is perfect and God knows what is best for me."  The story is Adam and Eve and how they ate the fruit God told them not to eat;  because of that God sent them out of the garden.  They were sad.  If they had listened to God they wouldn't be sad. I will have some pictures printed out and a snake and apple for props.

Activities:  (Make it Stick and Make it Fun)
  • Tending the garden-nothing needed. (could gather children and do this game, like a simon says and then tell them "let's sit down and hear a story from the Bible where there is a garden."  )
  • This or that-I will have the game cards printed out for you-see my comments above about BFF hearts.  This looks like a great group craft you could do easily on a day that you have music.   Could do this as a group maybe at the end of story time.
  • Coloring sheets-many girls like to do this during arrival time or at the end.
