March 10th, Lesson 2 of 5....
Monthly theme:  Jesus wants to be my friend forever!

  • Please make time to pray with your children!  There is also a prayer you could reference at the end of the "Make it Real" section of the curriculum. This is as important as the story.

 This week:  Lesson 2 of 5 :The four friends .
"Wow" is the theme this month as we share how amazing Jesus is...he healed peopled, helped them, and ultimately died for us and was resurrected.  The preschoolers may be really learning about the Easter story for the first time. WOW!!
 
March Scripture: "I am with you always." Matthew 28:20..  Remember to review the scripture with the children each week (motions are in the curriculum under make it true section.)
 

Bible Story:  (found under Make it True) Four friends lower their friend through the roof to get to Jesus.  You can tell the story or use a Bible book if you want.  
 
Activities: Thoughts on some of the activities:
Good for before the story:
  • Shake a legfun movement activity emphasizing how much we use our legs!
  • Carry the baby:     love this game...as it emulates what it was like for the four friends to lower their friend thru the roof.  Could use the hallway space if you need to play this game. 
  • Check out the cute song in Friendly help even if you don't do the activity. 
After the story: 
  • Story page  : an easy way to review the story and then children can take it home. Use some simple "in the tray" watercolor paints....We have them in the supply room. 
  • My injured foot: Use toilet paper to wrap kids up...might be fun for those who want to try.  Friends can help injured person walk around the room.
Prayer time: Gather in prayer sometime throughout the morning! Ask the kids what you can pray about!
