September Monthly Theme:  God loves me.  

Bible Story Focus this week: Jesus Calms the storm. 

Scripture:  Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Romans 8:39.

Remember to review the scripture with children.

1. Story:  This story is simple to tell and interactive.(See Bible Story in curriculum.)  You could bring a blanket from home to make the boat and some children can be the thunder and lightening as the story suggests.  Children can lean from side to side as the waves get bigger and bigger.  One child could be the designated Jesus to calm the storm.  I have many story books you could read if you would rather.  Please let me know.

2. Activities: 
    Supplies we have:  2 beach balls and other fluffy balls, red and yellow finger paints and   regular paints, paint brushes, paper plates, and toilet paper rolls( let me know if you want these so I can ensure there would be enough)
    a. Making the waves/riding the waves activity- easy and fun.  I have blue sheets if you want to use them.
    b. Sounds like rain-always a favorite activity-no supplies needed!
    c. **Stormy sea in the bottle activity-This game is not listed in the curriculum.  I will have bottles made with the instructions to this fun game if you want to use.  I will have them ready Sunday morning for you to use. Game probably takes 5-7 minutes.
